OK this machine came loaded with

Linpus Linux Basic Edition v9.2
What you need to do is remove the Linux Partitions and then you will be able to install XP though you do need a Legit copy of XP and not be pirating M$ product to remain legal.
I'm not sure about this particular Linux but what you need to do is remove the existing HDD partitions so I would suggest using something like The Ultimate Boot CD to delete the partitions and then you can insert you XP CD.
What I think is happening here is that the unit is failing to see the XP CD as bootable and is by passing it completely.
