Firefox connects to Internet, Explorer 6 does not?

Firefox connects to Internet, Explorer 6 does not?

I can not access the Internet, any websites, with Explorer 6.
I get the error "the page cannot be displayed"
I can connect using Firefox.
I have run Adaware and Spybot search & destroy.
Any help would be appreciated.
