On the Job Hunt is a web log for IT professionals looking for work. Our current job hunter is Chuck Drobny, an IT consultant seeking a new fulltime job. Two other people are contributing to On the Job Hunt, an executive recruiter and career coach and the owner of a consulting firm, who will provide advice from the perspective of a hiring manager. TechRepublic career editor Judy Mottl will also provide links to TechRepublic articles on job hunting. Get your free TechRepublic membership here. E-mail the web loggers here.
Note: Unless you specifically request otherwise, all e-mail received will be considered eligible for publication in all or part on the web blog.

Finally some good news about the employment forecast!
The CNN.Money article is especially encouraging for those IT professional in the south and any job hunters who are able to relocate to the south.
The number of U.S. companies planning to add to their payrolls during the fourth quarter is bigger than the number planning to cut, according to a quarterly survey by Manpower, the staffing company.
Manpower breaks down its data by region and industrial sector. Regionally, it found the South will have the most robust market for job prospects; 23 percent of employers there expect to have a net hiring gain in the quarter and only nine percent think they'll have a net loss--a 14 point difference.
And, in regard to Chuck's big meeting this week, I've got my fingers and toes crossed--can't wait to read how the final interview meeting went this week!
